Appearance

A female shield dwarf with the bearing and physique of a trained fighter. She carries herself with dignity and warrior's pride even in chains.

Personality

Eldeth is stubborn and proud of both her heritage and Gauntlgrym's achievements in reclaiming the ancient dwarven kingdom. She hates the drow and all "corrupt dark dwellers," viewing them with particular disdain. She is also defiant and self-sacrificing—among the most likely prisoners to perish before getting the opportunity to escape, but if she survives, she is determined to carry word of the demon threats back to Gauntlgrym and her family.

Role in Campaign

Eldeth is a shield dwarf scout captured during her service to Gauntlgrym's interests. She was among the prisoners brought to Velkenvelve and shares a cell with the player characters.

Campaign-Specific Fate:
Eldeth escaped with the party from Velkenvelve but separated from them before reaching the Kuo-toa village. She left to return to Gauntlgrym to warn her home of the demon incursion threatening the Underdark. Her goal is to spread word of the demonic threat and rally her people to respond.

Unresolved Question: Whether Eldeth successfully reaches Gauntlgrym, and what action (if any) the ancient dwarven kingdom takes in response to her warnings of demons in the deep remains an open thread.

Background

Eldeth Feldrun is a shield dwarf scout from Gauntlgrym, the great dwarven citadel recently reclaimed by the dwarves after centuries of abandonment. She serves the interests of her people in exploring and defending the Underdark. During one such scouting mission, she was captured by the drow and brought to Velkenvelve as a slave.

Though a prisoner of the drow, Eldeth never surrendered her defiance or pride. Among the prisoners, she stands out for her warrior's resolve and her fierce hatred of the drow and all dark dwellers. Her primary goal is to escape and return home to warn her people of the demonic threats stirring in the deep.
