Caladorn

True name: Alek | Alias used in Neverwinter: "Calador"

A mysterious figure who appears at key moments, performs soul gazes, and has knowledge of the party that predates their meeting him. He appeared at the Shining Knight's Arms and Armor in Neverwinter as "Calador" — an alias quickly seen through by the party. He travels with Arveiaturace, the ancient white dragon also known as The White Wyrm.

What We Know

• He has "known Kavu for years" (let this slip when Kavu visited)
• He mentions something called "Flamekeeper" in relation to Kavu's clan/last name
• Performed the soul gaze on Othorion: "A crown with no king yet."
• Rendered the Crown of Neverwinter non-magical at the party's request
• Used Remove Curse on the gobbofied Kelvin and Kefkas
• Directed the party to Trollskull Manor in Waterdeep for answers about Othorion's Styx poisoning
• He is under some kind of stricture — "been told to not interfere in the affairs of mortals right now"
• When Kossuth's compass was activated for the time-travel, Caladorn's voice appeared in Kavu's head: "What in all the nine hells did you do, Kavu?" — suggesting he could see the temporal rip

Soul Gaze: Othorion

"A vast dark sky — threaded through it are silver filaments, the web of fate and time coiling around a single point. At the center, a figure who doesn't know he's standing at the axis of something enormous. The framing — not guilt but a wound, a deliberate cut made by careful hands to redirect destiny. Blackrazor not as a possession but a negotiation — two wills grinding against each other constantly. And underneath all of it, buried so deep Othorion himself can't see it — something the Drow wove into his bloodline generations ago. A crown with no king yet."

Later soul gaze notes show: "The silhouette, wings unfurled, the person is Roland for just a moment." — Caladorn holds a secret about Roland.

At The Scar — The Reckoning

Caladorn arrived at The Scar riding Arveiaturace, alongside Zariel, Karlach, and Wulfgar. His robes were singed from the flight. He fought as a support spellcaster — keeping the party alive, countering Errtu's abilities, attempting Banishment — not as a melee combatant.

After the battle, he dismounted. He walked across the caldera floor toward Kavu. He stopped three feet away. Looked at the missing arm, the golden scales, the flickering inner fire. For a long moment, nobody spoke.

Then: "I warned you."

He laid out the full weight of what Kavu had done:

• Introduced Eberronic Siberys Dragonshards to Toril — they don't follow Toril's rules; faction wars will be fought over them
• Created a permanent planar wound between four realities — it will never fully heal; things will always sense it
• Drew Errtu out of the Deep Wastes on day one; others will follow
• Drew the attention of Eberronic factions who may now investigate (Lords of Dust, Chamber, Dreaming Dark)
• Rewrote pieces of how divine fire functions across multiple realities

Then, quietly, he shifted:

"You also killed an ascended dragon from inside its own throat. You saved your friends from a fight they could not have won. You completed a divine quest that has been waiting since before your species existed."

He put a hand on Kavu's shoulder — the one that still had an arm attached.

"I am furious with you, Kavu. I am terrified of what comes next. I do not know how to fix what you have broken, or if it CAN be fixed."

A pause.

"But I am also... proud. Horrified, and proud."

He departed after establishing wards around the Fernian Scar, promising to return "when there is time to discuss consequences properly."
