Zybilna

Enchantress, architect, schemer. She foresaw a threat to the balance of forest and Feywild, arranged the birth of a guardian to meet it, and was frozen before he could arrive. She is waiting — even if she doesn't know she's waiting.

Who She Is

Zybilna rules Prismeer, a splinter realm of the Feywild. She is one of the great archfey of the age — known outside her domain as Iggwilv, the Witch Queen, one of the most powerful and feared wizards and witches in the history of the multiverse. Within Prismeer she goes by Zybilna; to scholars, she is Iggwilv.

She is ancient, calculating, and patient in the way that only the fey and the very long-lived can afford to be. She plays games that unfold across decades. The union of Rowan and Eldara — and the birth of Kelvin Fairlight — was one of those games. She set it in motion because she saw the threat coming. She was right.

Role in Kelvin's Arc

The Design

Sensing the Hourglass Coven's growing ambitions and the threats they posed to the balance of Neverwinter Wood and the Feywild border, Zybilna orchestrated the union of Rowan (a firbolg sage) and Eldara (a dryad spirit woven into the life of the forest) under her subtle influence. Her intent: to create a guardian — a being of both realms, powerful and pure.

She designed the child. She did not anticipate that the Hourglass Coven would act before the guardian could mature.

The Coven's Move

The Hourglass Coven ignited an enchanted wildfire in Neverwinter Wood to eliminate the prophesied guardian before he could rise. They believed they succeeded — Rowan and Eldara died in the fire; the child, they assumed, died with them. In fact, the parents' sacrifice imbued their son with the wildfire's power and marked him as Zybilna's guardian.

Zybilna's design survived. Her guardian survived. And then she was frozen.

The Contingency

Zybilna prepared for the possibility that she would not be able to guide Kelvin herself. She placed a contingency: the first time Kelvin calls upon his wildfire spirit after genuine guidance from a forest elder, the three-toed bird footprint — her sigil as Iggwilv — will appear on him. This activates Madryck Roslof, her agent, who has been watching and waiting for exactly this moment.

Current Status — Frozen at Prismeer

Zybilna is frozen in time at the Palace of Heart's Desire, the heart of her realm of Prismeer. This is the Hourglass Coven's work — she was imprisoned in a moment, unable to act, unable to speak. The palace exists. Prismeer exists. She simply cannot move within them.
