Description
Toothmaw Cliffs is a volcanic amphitheater in the Dragonspine region. A fire vortex was active above it during Session 1. The natural bowl shape of the location made it ideal for Father Corvan's ritual — hostages could be positioned at the edges, with the vortex as the focal point above.
History
Session 1 — Vol'kathar's Ascension
Father Corvan and his cult used Toothmaw Cliffs as the site of Vol'kathar's ascension ritual. Bound hostages were sacrificed into the fire vortex. The party intervened but could not stop the ritual — Vol'kathar ascended from Young to Adult Red Dragon mid-combat, gained legendary actions, fixated on Kavu, and fled with him at the session's end.
Two hostages were saved. Several were lost.
Current Status
The ritual is complete. Father Corvan's fate is unknown. The site remains accessible but has no confirmed ongoing significance.
